Margaret, “Peggy” leads Gateway’s individual life insurance team, a multidisciplined team of insurance specialists who she actively recruited, hired, trained and to whom she transferred her passion for insurance solutions in legacy planning. She plays a key role in the development of the firm’s best practices to improve our client’s insurance experience throughout the discovery and medical underwriting process and well into post issue services. Peggy also helps develop and promote Gateway’s joint venture relationships and centers of influence, often the person they call to strategize about their clients’ life insurance needs and possible solutions.

Peggy is an instrumental part of Gateway from our clients’ perspectives as well. With life insurance being a lifetime investment, Gateway’s clients want to work with a point-person who was “at the table” when they bought their insurance. Someone who is familiar with their needs, who pro-actively monitors their coverage and who is conversant about how changes in their lives, changes in the insurance industry, changes in the market and changes in tax laws may impact their needs and coverage. Peggy fits that bill and has been a member of our team since 2000. Her strong sense of urgency and accountability, empathy for client challenges, firm grasp of insurance knowledge, actuarial background, years of experience and clear and straight-forward way of simplifying complicated insurance topics have earned her the distinction as the “go-to” person by most of our clients and their advisors.

With the talents of an ultimate project manager (i.e., methodical, organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, ability to delegate and a penchant for documenting and tracking practically everything), Peggy has also evolved into Gateway’s resident specialist for managing internal projects; projects ranging from firm and client social events to the acquisition and construction of new office spaces.

Peggy lives in Fox Chapel, PA with her husband Chris and daughter Francesca. She enjoys being outdoors, including hiking, biking and anything that keeps her moving. She and her family are complete foodies and often spend their weekends in and around Pittsburgh looking for the next best restaurant.
